Responsibilities for a Certified Welder
- Read and understand assembly prints
- Measuring and cutting materials to specifications, shaping and modifying metal objects
- Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
- Inspect finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints to ensure structural integrity
- Uses hand tools, files, electrodes, hammers, clamps, jigs
- Shop organization and assembly line modifications
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications for a Certified Welder
- 2-5 years' welding experience in assembly or manufacturing
- Previous experience working in a specialty vehicle manufacturer, EV experience a plus.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and process improvement is a plus
- Knowledge of metallurgy
- Knowledge of various welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, etc.
- Good attendance and good communication skills
- Previous experience in a start-up environment is a plus
- Pass a weld test
- MIG welding
- Flat position, vertical down, and overhead
