Position Description:
The Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer is a member of Product Development organization. The PVT Engineer is 'first line of defense' with regards to quality. The PVT Engineer has several responsibilities associated with analyzing and improving the Quality of the vehicles.
POSITION IS FULLY ONSITE (5 DAYS A WEEK)
Responsibilities :
- Review incoming warranty claims data on a daily basis,
- Review customer and dealership comments, bin claims into proper binning categories
- Contact dealership/s for parts and repair diagnoses
- Participate in customer call back to ensure proper understanding of customer feedback, review returned parts for root cause analyses and develop Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions
- Support assembly plant with Stop Ships/Stop Builds, Campaigns, Audits, Root Cause Analysis and other Quality related tasks
- Lead engineering commodity changes for future minor product launches and lead cost reduction actions in current production vehicles
- Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific sub-systems and work closely with Supplier partners for subsystem components to address quality concerns
- Lead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes for the sub-system
- Issue engineering Alerts and initiate and/or pursue authorization of engineering Concerns for product changes to support Quality objectives
- Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product quality Maintain sub-system or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level Quality documents (SAQ, Top 20 concerns)
- Make presentations to various levels of upper management (weekly VRT report out, Vehicle Quality Reviews, Engineering Managers reviews)
Skills Required:
- Problem Solving - Be able to demonstrate effective problem solving approach to complex issues
- Project Management - Be able to demonstrate use of effective communication, time management, and organization
- Quality Assurance Concepts and Standards - Be able to demonstrate exposure to control plans, SPC, and reaction plans
- Root Cause Analysis - Be able to demonstrate getting to root cause Six-Sigma Training - Green Belt and/or Black Belt Training
Experience Required:
- 1 Year relevant experience
Experience Preferred:
- 2-3 Years relevant experience
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
Education Preferred:
- Additional Safety Training/Licensing/Personal Protection
