Position Description:

About the Role Within Global Data Insight and Analytics (GDIA), Senior and Advanced Product Designers are responsible for driving design excellence and shaping user-centered digital solutions that support client's most visible initiatives. You will operate as a strategic leader and hands-on designer, ensuring design quality, cohesion, and impact across complex products and platforms. This role is ideal for highly experienced designers who are passionate about mentoring others, influencing product strategy, and advancing the design discipline across the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive product vision and design strategy, influencing high-impact features and experiences.
  • Lead design thinking sessions, workshops, and cross-functional alignment discussions.
  • Ensure design cohesion and quality across platforms and product lines.
  • Conduct advanced research and usability assessments; make strategic, data-informed design decisions.
  • Mentor and coach designers across the organization; review and elevate peers' work.
  • Represent the design function in strategic conversations with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Shape team roadmaps and goals; make high-impact decisions on product direction.
  • Contribute to the broader design community (e.g., publishing, speaking, open source).

Experience Required:

  • 5 years of proven UX/product design experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Extensive experience conducting and applying user research to inform strategy and execution.
  • Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite) and strong understanding of UI development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Portfolio demonstrating leadership on high-impact, end-to-end design initiatives across multiple platforms.

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience leading design within Lean/Agile product teams.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, drive consensus, and communicate design rationale at senior levels.
  • Specialized expertise (e.g., in-vehicle, mobile, business design, motion, API-driven systems).
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and build design talent.
  • Track record of introducing innovative design methods and advancing organizational design maturity.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (HCI, Human Factors, Design, Psychology, Communications, or related).

Additional Information:

  • This is a hybrid position with expectations to work onsite up to 4 days per week.
  • Candidates must be located within driving distance to Dearborn, MI.
