Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a CNC Machine Shop Apprentice. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to learn, have the ability to listen and take instruction from some of the best machinists in the industry. The ideal candidate must have an impeccable work ethic. This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on training and mentorship in the operation, programming, setup, and maintenance of CNC machinery. The apprentice will work alongside experienced Senior Machinists to learn precision machining techniques, blueprint reading, and quality control processes in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and assist in the setup and operation of CNC mills, lathes, and other machine tools.
- Learn the basics of CNC programming with MasterCam.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Support the production of precision components to meet engineering specifications.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning tasks.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
- Document work performed and communicated progress to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or coursework in machine preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing or automotive performance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Solid math skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Exposure to CNC programming (G-code, M-code).
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
- Experience with manual machining or shop tools.
