Summary:
The main function of a mechanical technician is to modify, test and repair machinery and equipment under direction of engineering staff or physical scientists. A mechanical technician helps engineers design, test, and manufacture industrial machinery, consumer products and other equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all required tasks in relation to equipment setup, operation, cleaning, testing, and process checks to ensure reliable and consistent functionality.
- Work consistently in controlled, "clean room" environment while wearing required protective equipment.
- Utilize Job Instruction Training process to grow combined skill set of work group.
- Mix chemicals (liquids, powders, gases) to a specified recipe.
- Perform scheduled equipment maintenance and required cleaning.
- Observe equipment functionality and troubleshoot issues when needed.
- Maintain records on work performed, analyze data collected, and report results.
- Recommend revisions to lab process.
- Document best practices in battery cell manufacturing processes through standardized work instructions
- Use data collection to make well informed process improvements through corrective action.
- Identify and eliminate operational waste through use of Lean manufacturing tools.
- Execute problem solving techniques to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Maintain good housekeeping, safety practices, and supplies.
- Coordinate and exchange findings with engineering personnel outside work group
- Properly dispose of material waste
- Actively participate in team/group Business Plan Deployment meetings
- Coordinate Test/build/and Preventive maintenance activities with stakeholders and support teams to ensure on time completion.
- Vet incoming work requests to ensure equipment and hardware resources are in place to support.
Education/Experience:
- Associate's degree in engineering technology or related field required.
- 2-4 years' experience required.

Training Schedule:
- Training on 1st shift 7AM - 3:30PM 6-8 weeks
- After training will move to 3rd shift position 11PM - 7:30AM
- Onsite, no remote
