Position Summary

This role focuses on developing and validating advanced CFD methodologies for lubrication, cooling, and multiphase fluid interaction phenomena in transmissions, electric drive units, axles, and related automotive systems. The ideal candidate has proven experience with STAR-CCM , turbulence modeling, and correlating CFD results with physical testing, as well as the ability to develop new simulation methods rather than simply execute existing workflows.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop high-quality CAD models and meshes for CFD simulations.
Design and implement CFD methods for multi-physics applications (two-phase flow, CHT, turbulence).
Translate system requirements into CFD method development plans.
Conduct advanced CFD simulations for automotive powertrain and e-drive applications.
Plan and coordinate physical tests to validate CFD methods.
Perform correlation between simulation and physical test results, refining CFD methodologies.
Automate workflows using scripting languages (Python, Java).
Communicate findings and recommendations through clear presentations and reports.

Skills Required:

5 years of hands-on CFD modeling and method development experience (automotive or closely related industry).
5 years of two-phase flow modeling experience (e.g., oil-air interaction in transmissions/axles, cooling sprays in e-motors, cavitation in pumps).
Expertise with STAR-CCM for CFD simulation and method development.
Strong background in turbulence modeling (RANS, LES, DES).
Experience with CFD-to-test correlation and validation methods.
CAD preparation and meshing for CFD.
Scripting/automation (Python, Java).
Familiarity with CAE tools and Teamcenter.
