The Technician will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing laboratory systems that support emissions testing and energy management operations. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with a passion for advanced systems, preventative maintenance, and hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced, collaborative lab environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding Engineering Maintenance and Technical Support activities, including daily operations and future planning initiatives.
- Monitor ongoing maintenance and project tasks, providing regular updates to leadership and proactively identifying potential roadblocks.
- Act as a technical resource to internal teams and suppliers, supporting all aspects of engineering maintenance and system operations.
- Develop, implement, and manage a preventative maintenance system and related plans for key facility infrastructure supporting testing activities.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on laboratory infrastructure, including process HVAC, electrical distribution, machine repair, and plumbing systems.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging test equipment and technologies, including commissioning, safety standards, and maintenance best practices.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent technical experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Maximo for preventive maintenance planning and execution.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance activities in a complex, dynamic environment.
- Experience with equipment used in Emissions Development and Certification testing (Building and Process systems).
- Skilled in using Building Management Systems (BMS) for diagnosis and troubleshooting of facility operations.
- Experience collaborating with equipment suppliers and installation contractors.
- Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, one-line diagrams, electrical, and control schematics for system troubleshooting.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a mechanical service or maintenance role.
- Understanding of wind tunnel systems, including design, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of mechanical pump circuits, steam and humidity control systems, Reverse Osmosis, and CAP DI systems.
- Exposure to vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing, and thermal imaging as part of predictive maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with service, preventive maintenance, and mechanical door operations.
- Experience working in an ISO 17025 or ISO 9001 accredited environment.
