Job Summary:
The Development Technician at the Milford Proving Grounds will perform a variety of technical tasks related to vehicle integration, test & validation, development, or instrumentation. The selected candidates will be expected to perform with a high level of technical expertise. Job assignments will vary based on the responsibilities of the development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in complete vehicle repairs and maintenance is required. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining current service procedures and practices.
- Experience in Vehicle diagnostic procedures according to SI, as well as test drive to verify sound repairs are completed.
- Completes assignments according to work requests, on-time, with high quality.
- Able to collaborate with others outside the work group and work effectively in a team environment.
- Adheres to all Safety standards.
- Actively participates in GMS and BPD initiatives of the team.
- Creates accurate, complete documentation associated with task execution.
- Perform physical tasks common to the position.
- Assists with problem solving and creation of Task Instructions as requested.
- Maintains good housekeeping standards.
Requirements:
- Education - 2-year Technical Degree
- Years of experience - 5-7 years of experience
- Must be flexible with what they work on, exposure to a lot of different programs, comfortable with learning new things
- People that have worked out well in the past - candidates who have experience doing dealership tech they translate well into this team, dealer experience
- Interact with engineering, most interaction is through email and phone calls because this is an off shift, good with documentation is huge (will have a comment box to write what they have done), very detailed
- **nice to have - EV experience**
- Teams, Slack - familiar with this
- Work is on 2nd shift
Manager's Must Haves:
- Diagnostic troubleshooting - experience in this vs. only tire shop/oil change is needed
- Computer skills - excel, being able to navigate Microsoft office suite
- At least 5 years experience
