Job Summary:
OEM Client is looking for an Energy Management Simulation Engineer. This is onsite every day.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build 0D/1D system simulation models to analyze core vehicle functional objectives, with a focus on fuel economy, efficiency, range, and performance
- Develop and manage tools used to translate vehicle functional objectives to system and sub-system level requirements
- Use Python or MATLAB for automation and data processing related to simulation workflows
- Develop or identify new technologies, strategies, and methods for improving the energy efficiency and performance of current and future vehicles
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in 0D/1D system simulation, with a focus on energy management and longitudinal performance
- Experience in model-based engineering, preferably using MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience using 1D modeling software, preferably GT-Suite, to support vehicle and propulsion system development
- Demonstrated foundational knowledge of electrified propulsion system components, including electric motors, power conversion systems, high voltage batteries, engines, transmissions, charging electronics, and control systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical collaborators
