Position Description:
New Model Launch engineer for vehicle programs. Launch new vehicle and powertrain programs in North America assembly plants.
Primary Skills Required:
Responsible for the overall program management and delivery of new vehicle programs.
Responsibilities:
Issue Resolution, Quality/Status Assessments, Fleet (Vehicle) Management, and Budgets/Timing.
Experience Required:
- Managing the Launch Teams transition to the plant.
- Managing Pre-Production Build Events.
- Managing the ordering, building, testing, and disposition of vehicles.
- Managing the Pre-Production Drive Fleet Evaluation Plan.
- Managing Product Development change approvals ahead of prototype builds.
- Gatekeeper for New Model Programs.
- Leading the build issues management process for the cross functional program team.
- Co-Chairing meetings and driving part support issues to resolution for each pre-production build.
- Champion Senior Management Presentations.
- Preparing and presenting New Model Program weekly assessment reports.
- Managing launch budget approval and executing elements controlled by New Model Programs within the launch budget.
Experience Required:
- Program management experience
- Manufacturing experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Microsoft Excel
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree
Additional Information:
- Hybrid / 4 days per week in office until launch is required.
- At the time of launch position will require full time on site at a SE Michigan plant location.
- This position could involve long-term travel outside of SE Michigan (up to 9-12 months at a time) to support assembly plants during program launches.
