Robotics Lab Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a Robotics Lab Technician to support the daily operation of a robotics development shop and lab. This role involves hands-on work supporting prototype builds, experiments, and lab operations while ensuring a safe, organized, and efficient workspace.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily operation of a robotics development shop and lab by fabricating parts, assembling fixtures, wiring and troubleshooting electromechanical systems, and maintaining tooling, consumables, and test equipment
Ensure safe, clean, and compliant workspaces by enforcing EHS practices, managing lockout tagout and chemical handling, and keeping inspection and calibration records current
Partner with engineers and technicians to build prototypes, run experiments, set up robots (programming) and sensors, and document builds, changes, and results with clear work instructions
Own lab logistics including inventory, vendor ordering, equipment uptime, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and keep programs moving
Identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement through standardized setups, 5S, and simple automation of shop and lab processes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred
Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems and lab/shop tools
Basic robotics setup or programming experience is a plus
Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
