Position Description:

The main function of a mechanical technician is to modify, test and repair machinery and equipment under direction of engineering staff or physical scientists. A mechanical technician helps engineers design, test, and manufacture industrial machinery, consumer products and other equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve detail drawing or sketch for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet or wood shops.
  • Approve project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test nature of technical problems such as redesign.
  • Approve project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements fabrication, assembly and testing.
  • Communicate changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures to staff and approve corrections.
  • Review and approve tool drawing designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function using engineering skills.
  • Supervise tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance.
  • Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
  • Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment, and measuring instruments.

  • Strong ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Strong ability to perform details calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.
  • Looking for dyno testing experience, fabrication capability, and troubleshooting / problem solving experience.
  • Engine development manual testing with calibration and hardware development.

Monday - Friday
2nd shift, could move to 1st or 3rd eventually they will take volunteers before they move people around to different shifts

1st shift: 6:30AM - 3PM
2nd shift: 2PM - 10:30PM
3rd shift Sun - Thurs 10-630am

They will train on 1st shift for 2 months
