Job Summary:
Optimal is seeking a Robotics Software Developer to create automated grasping solutions for our client Bodyshop and General Assembly operations. The role involves developing Python-based grasp planning algorithms, integrating them with collaborative robot systems, and supporting hardware benchmarking and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate grasp planning software for 2-finger, magnetic, and vacuum grippers.
- Benchmark gripper hardware and summarize findings.
- Test automated grasping solutions on parts and prepare technical documentation.
- Collaborate with client teams on system design and development.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science.
- Experience with robotic software, grasp planning, and collaborative robots.
- Proficiency in Python and strong problem-solving skills.
Work Conditions:
- First-shift (M-F) R&D role focused on engineering, software development, and testing.
