The main function of a conveyor systems engineer is to work with multiple engineering teams to ensure manufacturing assembly and conveyer system requirements are met.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities of a small group of engineers and support resources.
  • Manage process engineering, OEM suppliers engineering, fabrication, and field installation contracts.
  • Prepare engineering estimates and performance specification for obtaining process engineering service contract.
  • Prepare engineering estimates for fabrication and installation of conveyor and material handling systems.
  • Prepare project milestones schedules for equipment fabrication and installation.
  • Provide field engineering support throughout equipment installation, start-up, de-bug, and acceleration phases.
  • Travel to integration shops and plant sites as required to ensure fabrication and installation requirements are met.
  • Provide technical support for installation and start-up of conveyor systems.
  • Provide technical support for training of plant personnel.
  • Monitor project progress to schedule and develop countermeasures to meet targets and provide management reports.
  • Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with technical specifications and maintainability quality objectives.
  • Coordinate field changes and prepare appropriate documentation.
  • Attend contractor and plant meetings as required to maintain project coordination.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced engineers.

Skills:

  • Experience in coordinating design and construction activities.
  • Experience in construction codes and technical specifications.
  • Experience with several types of conveyor systems and technologies.
  • Experience working with Constructions Managers.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of various business units.
  • High level of analytical ability to resolve unusual or difficult problems.
  • High level of administrative skills.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
5-7 years of experience required.
