Summary:
The main function of a production supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.

Job Responsibilities:
Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

Skills:
Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

Business Group:
Trim shop, multiple conveyers and about 250 people, different areas they might be in trim 1 or trim 2, door line, cannot commit to what department they will be in now, but they will be moving around to the different groups within general assembly, managing anywhere from 20-40 people (team leaders hourly UAW employees), they would have 6 direct reports as team leaders, and 30 total people working under them
A lot of interaction with a lot of people throughout their shift, interacting with the whole team (30 people)
Chance for an extension, potentially, as early as 6 months into the contract

Education/Experience:
Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree nice to have
At least 3-5 years' experience
UAW/union experience is a nice to have
Six Sigma or other problem-solving certificates is a nice to have
Faced pace environment/automotive background is nice to have **automotive background is a huge plus**

Must be willing to rotate shifts.
1st shift 6AM - 2:30-3PM
2nd shift: 4PM - 12:30AM
Rotate every 4 months, the shift that they start on would be TBD, but would likely be 1st shift and then rotate to 2nd shift in 4 months
