Job Title: Librarian General

Position Description:
Research Library is responsible for providing access to information resources and services to employees worldwide. Primary focus is scientific and engineering information provided through journals, books, market research, industry standards, databases, and related tools; also have content to support professional development. Internal library web site and catalog act as the interfaces for employees to access these resources, with direct support from library staff for questions and in-depth research.
We utilize online training sessions, current awareness alerts, internal events, and sites to promote our resources. We manage three internal databases, including one with internally published internal reports.


Skills Required:
Information Management, Knowledge Management, Library Science
Information Management - Experience managing and providing access to collections of resources: books, journals, market research, etc.
Knowledge Management - Experience with managing internal resources or access to them.
Library Science - Experience working in a corporate or academic library, providing information support to users.

Skills Preferred:
Artificial Intelligence & Expert Systems
Artificial Intelligence & Expert Systems - experience using AI tools for searching for information.

Experience Required:
Strong understanding of engineering/scientific literature, databases, and industry standards
5 years minimum experience in corporate or academic library (engineering or sciences)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Motivation to work in a fast-moving environment
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Experience using AI tools

Experience Preferred:
Conducted in-person or online training for library resources
Knowledge of MARC cataloging and online library systems
Experience with web site development or maintenance
Experience with Serials Solutions 360 Link product

Education Required:
Master's Degree

***HYRBRID / 4 days per week in the office and 1 day remote*** 1. Manage up to 30 topical current awareness email alerts sent weekly to employees 2. Staff RLIS information desk, assisting in-person, email, and MS Team requests 3. Conduct on-demand research for employees 4. Research and approve industry standards requests 5. Support acronym database submissions and data cleanup 6. Utilize library catalog to circulate print books 7. Monitor new eBooks for addition to the collection and catalog as needed 8. Assist with internal technical report submissions and publication 9. Assist with library web site development and maintenance
