Job Summary:
The main function of the Group Production Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

Business Group:

  • Supply Chain Group
  • Looking to expand 3rd shift operations on both sides of the house for both engine lines
  • V8 carrier is in a new launch status and starting to ramp up
  • There is a high work load

Typical Day in the Role:

  • Heavily involved with UAW team members, managing a group of around 15-25 employees. Working with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines
  • 100% onsite.
  • Environment- On the GA plant floor, a lot of walking and standing
  • Performance feedback is given in real time
  • Someone willing to standup to their team. It is difficult to come in this environment and not get "ran over" by the team member.
  • We're always willing to help but have to some ownership and initiative to receive help. I want someone that handle a project on their own.
  • Safety is important.
  • Holding people accountable from a safety perspective, especially in general assembly.

Skills:

  • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of supply chain / material movement would give an edge
  • Managerial experience is a plus within UAW space
  • At least 1-2years of experience mandatory

  • Managerial experience, specifically working in a union environment.
  • Being able to adapt quickly. In the GSC, everything is constantly changing, and they need to be able to make changes on the fly.
  • Have an understanding of supply chain/logistics.

Shift Information:

  • 1st / 2nd / 3rd will most likely have rotation
  • Training starts on 1st shift
  • 1st Shift: 5:30am to 2:30pm
  • 2nd Shift: 1:30p to 10:30pm
  • 3rd Shift: 9:30pm to 6:30am
