Job Description:
The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.
The Manufacturing Engineer will work directly with the two Value Added Assembly (VAA) suppliers, supporting their teams with Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Industrial Engineering (IE) questions and serving as a key resource for supplier-related technical and process needs. This role will provide oversight and coordination for the Orion launch, support launch readiness and issue resolution, conduct audits of operator workspaces, and partner closely with VAA IEs and MEs to promote standardized processes, safe and efficient work areas, and successful supplier performance.
Job Responsibilities:
Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.

Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, computer-generated reports, bills of materials, part specifications, and engineering codes.
Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Working/intermediate-level ability to navigate Teamcenter, Siemens NX, AM, or similar engineering systems. Expert-level design or coding experience is not required, as the primary need is the ability to read, interpret, and navigate information within these systems.
Ability to understand relationships between engineering codes, vehicle parts, and specifications and identify the appropriate match or application.
Ability to learn OEM-specific systems, logic, and coding conventions. Prior OEM-specific experience may be helpful but is not required if the individual can quickly learn the processes.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
2-4 years experience required.
