Position Description:

Engineer to design, develop and validate structural components for passenger trucks and vehicles. Looking for innovative problem solvers with ability to manage complex systems and components, design for efficiency and validate using engineering tools and knowledge. Talent to be able to understand and develop complex systems and balance deliverables to make most cost/weight effective and functional proposals for underbody components. Will be working on Frame; frame mounted structural sheet metal, body isolators, tuned massed dampers

Skills Required:
CAD, 3D Modeling, Analytical skills, Application Design CAD - TCE Vis mockup; CATIA V5/V6, 3DX
3D Modeling modeling skills aligned with manipulation of existing CAD models to generate iterative proposals
Analytical skills understanding of engineering first principles as applied to structural design and interpretation of CAE model outputs Application Design Design and Release of built to print and or Full service supplier content, ensuring the design of record meets design requirements and Ford Standards

Experience Required:
3 years experience in frames or structures Design and Release CAD Capable (CATIA, 3DX) BS Mechanical Engineering Excellent communication skills, written verbal. Ability to lead a team, work with cross functional group.
Design and Release Engineering for Frame, Mounts, Spare Tire Winches, and/or Tow Hooks, responsible for forward model development, release, and through launch.
Absolute focus on delivery of robust designs and failure mode avoidance by applying engineering disciplines including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Perfect Drawing Plan and Engineering Specifications.
Responsible for overall design leadership to meet vehicle attributes including package, crash, durability, commercial upfitting, and thermal management
Responsible to lead, review, and approve, Frame Structure designs to ensure delivery to component ES, and vehicle requirements Responsible to resolve all durability, assembly, and functional issues identified
