Job Description:
Garage technician will be responsible for bumper to bumper repairs and troubleshoot/diagnose repairs/electrical issues on vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
Bumper to bumper repair on vehicles, engine work and spots, cab offs are a part of the every day routine, 4 engine swaps in the queue currently, do not do internal transmission but they do everything else: wire harness, install instrumentation, etc.
Requirements:
Education requirement - 2 Year Technical Degree (example - UNOH, Baker College)
Years of experience - Hiring Manager prefers at least 5-7 years, but is very flexible on this
The manager is open to someone coming right out of college if they have a strong diesel background. Dealership experience on diesels, what they work on at home (project vehicles or something like their family friends) manager will be asking about this during an onsite interview.
Preferred Skills:
Nice to have - chauffer's license due to trucks getting heavier
Fabrication skills/welding ***BIG BONUS*** they do a lot of this
ASE certification preferred - not a must have
Technician should have their own basic hand tools and tool box - this will be discussed in the interview what type of tools they will need

Shift Info:
All schedules are 1st shift openings
Can choose whatever schedule they prefer 5/8 or 4/10
Schedules available:
5-8hr days - 6AM - 2:30PM
4-10hr days - 5AM - 3:30PM
Mon-Fri 8hr days or
Mon-Thu 10hr days or
Tues-Fri 10hr days
Travel Requirements:
May be required to travel supporting California trip vehicles
Technicians follow the engineering team in a vehicle, loaded with tools, techs will be responsible for repairs along the way or notifications, expected to repair trailers
Travel - offsite, anywhere in the US (Colorado, Florida, Texas, California)
How often do they have to travel - depends on the rotations of technicians, they rotate who is interested, may be 3-4 times a year but could be more
Will be expensed, nothing is expected to be paid out of pocket by the contractor
