Responsibilities for Materials Manager
- Establishes and ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
- Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
- Collaborate with other managers and corporate Purchasing to determine supply needs
- Develop and execute inventory cycle count process to assure high inventory accuracies and establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
- Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates: Group Leader and Line Leader
- Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.
- Ensure prompt and accurate updating of the computer systems
- Prepare reports on inventory, material usage and efficiency
Qualifications for Materials Manager
- 3 years' experience in a materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or sourcing role
- Previous experience implementing an ERP system
- In depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems
- Hands on experience with forecasting and budgeting
- Analytical thinking with problem solving aptitude
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Previous experience in a start-up environment a plus
- BS/BA in logistics, materials management or similar relevant field
