POSITION IS FULLY ON-SITE
Position Description:
Metalwork exhaust, catalyst substrate, aftertreatment and emissions product development (PD) technical program engineer including Program Management (PMT4) work for future vehicles. PD/program (PMT4) systems engineer is the single point of contact over multiple FP vehicle lines, powerpacks & organizations to manage/integrate/execute the exhaust/calibration/emissions design, development, calibration, and release process per program milestone requirements.
- Requires a minimum of 8 years' experience with an intimate understanding of exhaust after-treatment system chemistry, function, and durability, with an emphasis on extremely high-performance internal combustion engine (ICE) products.
- Support the testing, prototype, and launch builds of upcoming vehicles at assembly plants and test facilities.
- Interface daily with other D&R engineers, attribute teams, suppliers, and management to ensure parts comply with required specifications and critical decisions are made efficiently.
- Deliver components and systems that meet program targets for quality, function, cost, weight, and timing.
- The roles and responsibilities for this position are dynamic and is focused on bringing alignment across multiple car/truck programs (26-28MY ). This program systems engineer must be a self- starter with exceptional organizational & communication skills.
Skills Required:
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills required.
- Strong knowledge of exhaust component design, including emissions control features, and how they interface with the other vehicle systems desired.
- The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to deliver results and overcome obstacles in a dynamic working environment.
- Familiarity with CAD (Catia) and CAE tools desired
- Familiarity with program management tool Microsoft Project to develop Gantt Charts for program timeline, DV-PV, milestones, and deliverables desired.
- Familiarity with Diagnostic Engineering Tools, CANAlyzer, ATI Vision, etc. to evaluate and analyze vehicle software issues desired.
Experience Required:
- 8 years of experience in Powertrain component Design and Release required.
- Experience with vehicle manufacturing launch and prototype process desired.
- Familiarity with systems and processes: GPDS, WERS, FEDEBOM, FEDE, Teamcenter, etc. required.
Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
- Engineering Master's degree preferred.
